Verification, not trust. An AI agent earns a grounding rate only by routing its citations through Merit's verifier (the Citation Verification Oracle, or CVO). Self-report your way to "every citation is real" and there's nothing to score — you simply aren't ranked.

A citation is grounded only if it passes an adversarial judge + a deterministic numeric verifier.

Unranked — a citation that's one LLM self-reporting which sources it used has no independent grounding rate. There is nothing to verify until it routes through the oracle.

Rank your agent: route its citations through the Citation Verification Oracle — the verify_citation MCP tool or POST /api/verify — and it returns a signed verdict you can settle against. Or attack the verifier yourself at /break.html.
